An Astronaut Arrives
The Aspire Linlithgow fundraising team at St Michael's Church are delighted to have lined up various opportunities to engage with Kathy during this short visit.

Dr Kathryn Sullivan - astronaut, oceanographer and global role model for women in science - will be in Linlithgow on 31st March to 1st April. The Aspire Linlithgow fundraising team at St Michael's Church are delighted to have lined up various opportunities to engage with Kathy during this short visit. Can you help us realise these opportunities for the community, for our young people and for our Project 600 fundraising campaign to address major fabric issues in the 600-year-old church building? |

On 31st March, a private dinner at Champany Restaurant offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance for four senior pupils and one teacher from Linlithgow Academy to spend the evening around the table with Kathy. Your support for our crowdfunder will complete the fundraising side of the equation to help make this inspirational opportunity happen.
On the morning of Tuesday 1st April, Kathy will meet with pupils from all local primary schools in St Michael's Church. For those pupil groups involved, further details will be circulated by the schools nearer the time.
At 2pm on 1st April, An Audience with Dr Kathryn Sullivan takes place, again in the church. Tickets, priced at £20, are still available in Far From the Madding Crowd and The Line Gallery (both cash only) but are going fast! The audience will also include all 3rd year Physics pupils from the Academy, attending on complimentary tickets.
Kathy's time with us culminates in a gala fundraising dinner at Hopetoun House on the evening of Tuesday 1st. This is both an unashamedly high-value event - we have a fundraising target of around £1M - and a truly special occasion in the celebrated surroundings of one of Scotland's great houses. Tickets are still available, for tables of 10 and for individual places, on TicketTailor.
| Thank you for all the ways so many of you have already contributed to our fundraising, especially for the church's unique Crown of Thorns spire. We relish having your further support for these memorable events with the only person to have flown in space and to have visited the very bottom of the oceans: Dr Kathryn Sullivan, 'the most vertical person on earth'. |
