The Homework Standard at Linlithgow Academy
Homework is a key aspect of school life and supports the work being done in classes across all curricular areas. It makes a meaningful contribution to the learning experiences offered to each learner and reinforces classroom learning, consolidating knowledge and helping learners to progress through the significant aspects of their learning throughout school.
The purpose of the Linlithgow Academy Homework Standard is to ensure consistency in homework practice across Linlithgow Academy, resulting in equity and excellence in application of standards. The Standard should promote effective links between home and school, allowing parents/carers to be more aware of the work being covered in school and what is being set as homework.
Through application of this Standard, as part of the key findings of the Education Endowment Foundation below, we firmly believe that this will support raised attainment in Linlithgow Academy as well as help support closing the attainment gap.
