FAQ's and Information about our Lottery
The Linlithgow Academy Lottery is a monthly prize draw run by members of Linlithgow Academy Parent Council, where 50% of funds generated makes up the lottery prizes and 50% goes to the Linlithgow Academy Parent Council funds which are used towards resources and initiatives identified by the school.
Membership is open to anyone over 16 years of age who has an interest in supporting Linlithgow Academy Parent Council's fundraising goals.
Each number purchased will cost £10 for our 2024 Lottery and will give you entry for 10 draws.
Each month for 10 months there will be three prizes: 1st prize will be 50% of the lottery prize allocation 2nd prize will be 30% of the lottery prize allocation 3rd prize will be 20% of the lottery prize allocation. Eg. With 100 numbers sold the total income will be £1000 therefore the prize allocation will be £500 which will be split over 10 months meaning there will be £50 in prize money each month in total.
In this example prizes would be as follows: 1st prize £25; 2nd prize £15; 3rd prize £10 ... with 200 numbers sold .... double that!
When you purchase an entry from our online shop you will receive an email to the email address you enter in the checkout process. This email will contain an order number which will be your entry number. You can have as many numbers as you wish but please buy each in an individual transaction so that you get distinct entry numbers.
Three winning numbers will be drawn at random the end of each month and announced on the Linlithgow Academy Parent Council Parent Facebook page and via school communications. The holders of the winning numbers will be notified by email/phone and the prize money will be transferred to their bank account.

One £10 entry will mean you will be entered into the draw for 10 months, the first draw taking place before 30/11/2024 (within 5 days of that day), and the last draw taking place before 31/08/2025 and within 5 days of that day.

Entry is open to anyone over 16 years of age who has an interest in supporting Linlithgow Academy. Entry is not transferable.
There will be a draw each calendar month by a lottery administrator. Draws will be filmed and will take place in the presence of at least one lottery member and one teacher at the school.
Where a drawn number is not a valid Order Number from our Online shop (due to failed card transactions), the next valid Order Number will be deemed drawn for that prize, unless they also have been drawn in which case the next again valid Order Number will be selected.
Winners will be notified by email and the numbers announced on the Linlithgow Academy Parent Council Facebook page and the school weekly communications.
All decisions made by the Linlithgow Academy Parent Council Lottery administrators will be final.
Any member or members found trying to deceive or interfere, for gain or reward, with any member of the Linlithgow Academy Lottery will have their membership terminated.

IMPORTANT! Please familiarise yourself with the rules before purchasing a ticket. We'd be delighted if you would like to buy more than one entry but please buy each in an individual transaction so that you get distinct entry numbers allocated to you.
If you do not receive an email following your purchase please check your junk email then contact us. Without an email you may not be entered successfully or we may not be able to contact you if you do win a prize. If you win or if there is a problem with a monthly payment not going into our account, we will notify you using the contact details provided.
We do not share your personal information nor sell it to any 3rd parties.
You have a right to have this amended or deleted at any time by contacting the lottery administrator.
Our payment platform, Sumup, have their own Data Protection and GDPR policy for the details they collect during the payment and this can be viewed on their website.
