Child Friendly Concerns, Worries and Complaints
At Linlithgow Academy we are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all our children and young people. In line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) (incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 we are following a child-friendly approach to managing and addressing children's concerns, worries, and complaints. This is also supported by our commitment to UNICEF's Rights Respecting Schools where we have achieved our Gold Award.
This means that every child and young person has the right to be listened to, taken seriously, and treated with respect. We ensure that pupils know how to share their views and feel confident that their voices will be heard. Our processes are designed to be clear, accessible, and reassuring, so that children feel supported at every stage. Please find below a copy of Children's Rights in the Complaints Process: A Guide for Parents and Carers which frames our approaches. This may highlight some small changes in how we manage complaints particularly.
If you would like more information about our approach or the UNCRC, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your continued support in helping us uphold the rights and wellbeing of every child.
