S1 pupils will be involved in CAT (Cognitive Abilities Tests) over a period of around three weeks starting from Monday 7th November. The test is in three parts and all are done on computer. Each test takes around 45 minutes to complete. The Cognitive Abilities Test is an assessment that is designed to help students and their teachers understand how they learn. It assesses how students think in areas that are known to make a difference to learning

If possible, pupils are asked to bring 5mm Ear bud Headphones for the tests (see pic below).  Please remind your child to bring in their Ear bud Headphones from Monday 7th  November.

The data gathered from these 'tests' helps to underpin teaching methodology and helps to ensure all learners needs are being met.

Pupils cannot study for these tests and should not be unduly anxious about them, we hope you can reinforce this message at home.

Thank you for your help and support in this matter.
