Our faculty brings together Business Education, Design and Technology and Food Technology, creating a dynamic environment where problem-solving, enterprise and creativity thrive. We believe in preparing every young person to be adaptable, skilled and ready to shape their future in work, life, and society.

Dynamic and Future-Focused Curriculum

Our curriculum offers a wide range of engaging and practical learning experiences designed to spark curiosity and ambition.

From S1 to S3, learners explore the breadth of technologies through hands-on projects and problem-solving challenges that build core skills for life and learning.

In the Senior Phase, students can choose from a diverse selection of courses including:

  • Design and Manufacture
  • Graphic Communication
  • Business Management
  • Administration & IT
  • Practical Woodwork and Metalwork
  • Practical Cookery
  • Skills for Work courses and NPAs in enterprise and employability

These courses are designed to develop creativity, innovation and independence, essential for success in the world of work and beyond.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

We believe in bringing learning to life through real-world experiences and enterprise.

Highlights include:

  • The award-winning Social Enterprise Schools project, integrating business with community impact
  • The F1 in Schools engineering challenge, where Linlithgow's Team VEGA achieved Scottish Regional Champion status and qualified for the UK Finals
  • Links with local employers and industry partners to promote Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) opportunities

These experiences connect classroom learning to the wider world, encouraging teamwork, leadership and entrepreneurial thinking.

Collaboration, Inclusion and Innovation

Our faculty is built on collaboration, among staff, learners and partners. We embrace the school's CORE learning framework to make lessons purposeful, inclusive and engaging.

Staff work together to share best practice, enhance digital learning and adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners. We are proud of our growing integration of UNCRC principles, ensuring that every young person feels valued, respected and empowered to take part in their learning journey.

Celebrating Achievement and Voice

Our students are at the heart of what we do.

The Technologies Pupil Parliament plays an active role in shaping faculty priorities, offering feedback and celebrating success across departments.

Learner achievements, from enterprise awards to design showcases and practical project excellence, are recognised and celebrated across the school community.

We take pride in seeing our learners develop confidence, creativity and practical expertise that will serve them far beyond school.

Commitment to Excellence

Through ongoing professional dialogue, continuous reflection and a strong focus on improvement, our staff are committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences. We work collaboratively within our faculty and across networks to ensure our curriculum stays relevant, ambitious and inclusive.

Our shared goal is simple: to inspire learners to innovate, to create and to lead with confidence in a rapidly changing technological world.
