SQA Eligibility for Appeals

SQA are conscious that, as a result of the pandemic, this may be the first time a learner has sat national exams and we recognise that they may be anxious. They know the school is supporting learners in making the most of the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in their exams. The appeals service will be available to learners who feel they have under-performed on the day.

Information for learners

After receiving your results, if your final grade is lower than the estimate we submitted for you to SQA you may be able to appeal. In the first instance, please read the  SQA 'Appeals Information What you need to know' publication which can be downloaded below. These school estimates form a significant part of the eligibility criteria to appeal.

How do I know what my estimate was?

Pupils were told their subject estimates both verbally and through Didbook Progress before study leave.

If you require a reminder of this and how to access Didbook Progress please click this link: Overview of our Progress Reporting System

Linlithgow Academy Appeals Consideration form

If you believe you fulfil the criteria for an Appeal (see SQA Appeals publication below) then please click on link and complete all information requested.

This MS form can only be accessed through the pupil's Glow email thereby ensuring the identity of each submission. You will need your candidate number, SQA subject result and importantly the school estimate (which needs to be higher than your SQA result to meet the SQA criteria for an Appeal to be submitted.) You will need to submit a new form for each subject appeal you are requesting.
