All Year Groups

The Rotary Club of Linlithgow are sponsoring this photographic competition. Photographic entries based around the theme ' Through My Eyes' are invited from students in two different age categories: Intermediate level aged between 11 and 13 and Senior level 14-17. Colour or black and white images can be submitted. Entries to be a minimum of 6 inches by 4 inches or maximum A4 size. The winning prize is a £50 book token and the runners up prize is a £30 book token. Entries can be submitted digitally using the Teams code: 3bly8bf or A4 printed copies given to Mrs Henderson in Art and Design Room C3. Please make sure that your name and age category are submitted with the image. The deadline for entries is Monday 6th January 2020.

 

Linlithgow Rotary Photography Competition: Please note that actual printed photographic entries can be given to Mrs Henderson in Art and Design on Tuesday 7th January .

The cast list is out! Have a look on the Drama Studio door and on the Music Department noticeboard!

There is a meeting on Wednesday 18th lunchtime (1:30pm) in the Drama Studio which all cast MUST ATTEND!

Mission Christmas - a huge thanks to everyone who donated gifts to the school's Mission Christmas appeal, it was another very successful year! The items donated will help to make Christmas day special and exciting for kids in the local area. If you didn't get the chance to donate and would still like to, Tesco in Linlithgow is collecting up until the 18th Dec. A huge thank you from Miss Leishman and the charity group!

 

 

For girls that played in the football tournament on the 6th of December:

Could you please returns kits to Mrs Fernandez once washed . Also if you have not done so already, please bring the £2 that was due for bus. I still have 2 pairs of earrings that belong to 2 of the girls. Please come and collect

 

 

Christmas Jumper Day - Wednesday 18th December

Wear your Christmas Jumper over school uniform and donate £1 to the house charities.

There will be a prize for the best, most festive jumper. See Miss Leishman (A27) on the day to enter.!

 

 

 

Gymnastics Competition - if you would like to participate in WL schools gymnastics competition in January please see Miss Leishman ASAP. The competition includes a floor routine and a vault.

Thank you for all of your donations, on our lead up to the end of term your generosity is greatly appreciated! The three items we are focusing on this week are:

 

- Tinned Rice Pudding

- Diluting Juice

- Cereal

S2 Great Home Economics Takeover 

Could all S2s please report to the Assembly Hall at 9.10 on Wednesday 8 January.  Please make sure you sit in your practical sets.  Classes 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6 will then be taking part in the sessions period 2, 3 and 4 and classes 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11 and 2.12 will return to class for P3 then be taking part periods 5, 6 and 7. Can all P2 teachers please accompany their classes to the assembly hall at 9.10am. Thank you. "

 

 

Ski trip 2021 - Letters were distributed to S2 pupils on Friday but many pupils were out at the Drama trip. If you did not get a letter please collect one from Miss Dickson, Miss Leblanc or Mrs Leach asap as the trip will close before the Christmas holidays. Thanks Miss Dickson

The Law Society of Scotland have careers events organised for early next year. The school is limited to three pupils per event. There are events in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen. If you are interested in a law career, please see Mr Forrester as soon as possible for more details.

 

Duke of Edinburgh

All those that have handed in an application from please look at the Duke of Edinburgh notice board. If you have been successful with the Linlithgow Academy group your name will be listed.

 

If your name does not appear on the board then details of how you could join another group will be displayed. If you would like further information please speak to a member of the D of E staff.

The Law Society of Scotland have careers events organised for early next year. The school is limited to three pupils per event. There are events in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen. If you are interested in a law career, please see Mr Forrester as soon as possible for more details.

 

 

 

S5 Pupils

A careers event with M&G Financials (Prudential) will take place on the 6th February at their Edinburgh office for 2 half day events. M&G are a £12 billion investment company operating all over the world with a huge office based in Edinburgh. This is a free event for S5/6 students who are looking to get into the financial services sector. During the event they will take part in workshops led by leading professionals within the firm, network with M&G staff and hear all about their paid work experience and degree apprenticeship opportunities with some possible fast tracks on offer! Places are limited so please see Mr Forrester as soon as possible if you are interested.
